Sweep an IP range in parallel and every networked printer reports in. With SNMP enabled, each device is fingerprinted straight from the hardware: model, serial number, hostname, colour capability, lifetime page count, and current toner levels. Found devices are flagged new, assigned, or ignored - open one, name it, confirm its site, and it joins the monitored fleet in one click. A scheduled discovery cron keeps watching for anything new on the network.

Every printer carries its connection info, site and area, asset tag, capability flags for PDF, ZPL, duplex and colour, SNMP settings with per-printer warning and critical thresholds, and reusable OID profiles that support non-standard printer families without code changes. Live status and supply levels sit next to full lifecycle, hardware, alerts, jobs, service, and analytics tabs - one screen that answers every question about a device.
Supplies that warn you on evidence, not guesswork
Live levels for every consumable - toner in all four colours, drums, fusers, maintenance kits - with burn-rate projections that estimate days remaining from observed usage. The fleet-wide Supplies Grid is the single screen for 'who needs toner', and dedicated Low-Toner and Reorder reports list exactly what to buy. When SNMP sees a supply level jump upward, the toner change is logged to service history automatically.

Toner low, critical and empty, paper jams, open doors, and offline conditions raise alerts automatically - de-duplicated so nobody gets spammed, severity-ranked so operations can triage at a glance, and auto-resolved the moment the condition clears. Honest scope
Agentless SNMP monitoring needs the Odoo server to have a network route to your printers - which is exactly how on-premise and self-hosted deployments run, and where Printer Fleet Manager shines today. A cloud-hosted Odoo database cannot reach printers on your LAN, so fleet monitoring currently requires on-premise or self-hosted Odoo. On the roadmap: a lightweight local Print & Monitor Bridge that brings monitoring and local printing to hosted deployments.
